Jim Hajek, PGA Head Golf Professional
Jim Hajek is the PGA Head Golf Professional at Fossil Trace and has been with the City of Golden since February of 2003. Originally from southeastern South Dakota, Jim has a degree in education with an emphasis in mathematics and computers from the University of South Dakota. He began his golf career by managing a small country club in his home town of Tyndall. He and his wife Lisa moved to Denver in 1989, and Lisa has worked as golf merchandise coordinator for area country clubs.

Jim joined the team at Fossil Trace leaving the position of Head Professional at Foothills Golf Course which he served for 8 years and The Meadows Golf Club for the previous 3 years. He brings with him a passion for service and excellence and a desire to create the "Greatest Golf Experience in Colorado".

Noy Sparks, Golf Course Superintendent
Noy Sparks is the Golf Course Superintendent at Fossil Trace Golf Club and has been with the City of Golden since August of 2002. Originally from Tarpon Springs Florida, Noy graduated from Lake City Community College with a degree in golf course operations. He joined the Fossil Trace team leaving a position with Lakewood Country Club and has previously worked at Sanctuary, a nationally recognized, award winning golf facility in Sedalia.

Noy has over 13 years of golf course maintenance experience and is considered a “turf grass guru” by his fellow team members. He is committed to creating the best playing conditions around and looks forward to enhancing your golf experience at Fossil Trace.

Adam Finch, PGA 1st Assistant Golf Professional
Adam Finch is the 1st Assistant Golf Professional/Tournament Director and the newest addition to the Fossil Trace staff. Adam has been with the City of Golden since June of 2006. Relocating to Denver from his native Minnesota, Adam was most recently employed as the Tournament Director at The Pines, an award-winning resort facility in Nisswa, MN. In addition, Adam brings a wealth of experience and great enthusiasm for the game of golf to Fossil Trace Golf Club and looks forward to helping you enjoy your experience at Fossil Trace.
Rick Ellefson, PGA Director of Instruction
Originally from South Dakota, Rick Ellefson first began teaching golf at the age of 20 at Meadowbrook Golf Course in Rapid City, SD. Rick was very fortunate to be exposed to a wide variety of teaching methods and styles at a young age. Now with over 20 years experience as an instructor his own teaching skills are finely tuned. In 1991, Rick began working as Head Professional at LeSueur Country Club in Minnesota. In 2000, Rick became the Teaching Professional at Minnesota Valley Country Club before moving to Colorado as the Director of Instruction at Fossil Trace Golf Club.
A member of the PGA of America and a two-time nominee for Teacher of the Year in Minnesota, Rick has taught players of all ages and skill levels and has graduated hundreds of satisfied students. He looks forward to helping your family or group with any part of your golf game.
Bill Dyrsten, Assistant Golf Course Superintendent
Bill Dyrsten joined the Fossil Trace team in July of 2004. His is originally from the Princeton, New Jersey area but has lived in Colorado since 1978. He and his wife Ann moved here after he graduated from Hope College in Holland, Michigan. Bill’s New Jersey golf experience came from working at Bunker Hill Golf Course and Forsgate Country Club during summers while in high school and college.

After moving to Denver he worked at Pinehurst Country Club where he was the assistant for many years before earning the position of Director of Grounds. He held this position for seven years before the club was sold and he began working as the assistant superintendent at Jim Engh’s award winning Sanctuary Golf Course in Sedalia, Colorado. He is committed to bringing together and training a crew that will supply you with “country club conditions at a public course.”
Debbie Stokes, Merchandise Manager
Debbie Stokes has been with Fossil Trace Golf Club since the opening in July of 2003. Debbie is a native of Colorado. After being a teacher for many years she has had a career change and has joined the Fossil Trace team. She finds quite a difference in attitude when she mentions getting to your tee time promptly versus getting to class on time.

Debbie enjoys not only golf, but many sports, along with hiking, bike riding and reading. However, her family remains number one in her heart!
